Nestled amongst the eucalyptus trees of Imbil, wildflower is a contemporary rural retreat designed to embrace its bushland setting while responding to the site's orientation and sun path. Three barn-inspired pavilions are carefully positioned to capture natural light, frame bushland views, and strengthen the connection between home and landscape.
Designed with the clients' budget in mind, the home adopts a staged approach that allows each pavilion to be built over time without compromising the overall vision. A central living pavilion, private main bedroom retreat, and separate guest quarters are linked by continuous walkways.
A restrained palette of natural timber and crisp white finishes is softened by native landscaping, creating a home that sits quietly within its environment and reflects a timeless, considered approach to rural living.
At KD Studio, we recognise that every structure we design sits upon the traditional lands of the First Nations people of Australia. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waters where we live and work, paying our respects to Elders past and present.
